The executive committee meets regularly to set the direction of the party, plan events, coordinate volunteer efforts, and support Republican candidates at every level of government. County Committee meetings—open to all dues-paying members—are held on the second Thursday of each month at the NWACC Shewmaker Center.
How the Executive Committee Is Elected
Under the rules of the Republican Party of Arkansas, each county party reorganizes every two years following the primary election. Precinct committeemen and committeewomen—elected by Republican primary voters in their precincts—serve as the voting members of the County Committee. At reorganization, they elect the officers of the executive committee: Chairperson, Vice Chairs, Secretary, and Treasurer.
Want to get involved in party leadership? The best first step is to attend a County Committee meeting, become a dues-paying member, and consider running as a precinct committeeman or committeewoman in your precinct during the next primary.
